Thank You- All Saints 20th Birthday Picnic
Thank you to everyone who worked so hard to make our 20th Birthday Picnic such a wonderful success. The food was great, the fellowship was even better. We are truly blessed to have such a fantastic church family!
Happy Father’s Day
To all the dad’s in our congregation, Happy Father’s day! Thanks for being the one who gets the car in the pouring rain, who eats the nasty colored jelly beans that no one else wants, and who finds all the tools that we have lost so that you can spend your Saturday fixing all the stuff that we broke. We love you and would have gotten you a really really great gift. Unfortunately, we spent all our money on Mother’s Day.
PS. Something is wrong with the air conditioner
Thank you – Fr. Don, Isaac, Gayl, and Blythe
Thank you to Fr. Don, Isaac, Gayl, and Blythe for filling in for me and also Glenn on the weeks we have been way. Your ministry to our parish is such a blessing and is truly appreciated!
Third Quarter Mission- The Piedmont Women’s Center
Each quarter of the year, All Saints has committed to come alongside a particular ministry in town to pray for them and to support their work. Our second quarter mission for 2025 is the Piedmont Woman’s Center.
The goal of the Piedmont Woman’s Center is to assist and encourage women who are pregnant not to seek an abortion but to have their baby. Their services include: providing free laboratory quality pregnancy testing, free pregnancy consultations, and free Limited OB ultrasounds at three locations in the Upstate region. You can learn more here: LINK
You can support this important work through (a) monetary donations (remember to place “2nd Quarter Mission” or Piedmont Women’s Center” on the FOR line of your check); or (b) you can also donate items that the center needs to help these young mothers. There is a list of needed items on the mission table in the parish hall.
Trinity Sunday- What and Why
Trinity Sunday is the Sunday set apart for us to celebrate and renew our focus that the God we worship is one God and three persons.
However, please note: Trinity is not a one and done celebration. We do not just give a nod and wink to the Trinity once a year. Instead, our celebration is an octave (8 days). That is, we celebrate it for two Sundays. In other words, the wisdom of our fathers bids us to stop, ponder, and reflect upon the centrality of the Trinity. But that is not all. Like almost every other major celebration of the Church calendar, Trinity is followed by an entire season where we look at the significance and relevance of the object of or celebration from many different angles and contexts.
What I want you to notice is the important role that Trinity Sunday plays in the Liturgical Calendar. Notice then where we are liturgically:
Liturgically speaking Trinity Sunday is a Transition Sunday. That is, Trinity Sunday provides the essential theological link in the Liturgical calendar between all that has come before and everything that follows after. How?
First, Trinity Sunday is the culmination of all that we have celebrated thus far. That is, it looks back on the whole of salvation and reminds us that the salvation we have celebrated from Advent to Pentecost is the work of the entire Trinity. Importance: the message of Scripture is that God saves. It is not that God starts salvation and then leaves you to work out the rest. Rather, the message of Scripture is that what God has begun in you He will not fail to complete. In other words, the whole of your life and salvation rests in the hands of the Triune God.
At the same time, Trinity Sunday looks forward to the Trinity season and prepares us to see the unfolding of the Salvation God has given us and our roll as witnesses to the one true living God and the new life He has accomplished for us.

This week’s web feature is our All Saints Sermon Page. On the sermon page you will find both the audio and the sermon notes from this past Sunday’s message. The reason that we are featuring the Sermon page as this week’s web feature is that the web version of the sermon includes an extended treatment of the material in the footnotes to the sermon. I invite each of you to take a look at it. (Please note: the extended version applies only to the sermon notes, not the audio). You can find the All Saints Sermon page together with this week’s sermon audio and text here: LINK
~or
To find the Sermon page, go to the All Saints’ Home page (www.allsaintsgreenville.com), locate the tool bar at the top right of the screen and click on the Sermons tab. On the ensuing page, you will find our most recent past sermons, complete with audio, sermon handout, and footnotes. Enjoy!!!
Special- Trinity Weekly Web Feature
In light of the Trinity Octave and the ensuing Trinity Season, we have a Special Trinity web feature, which is the Athanasian Creed. The Athanasian Creed is one of the three great Creeds of the Western Church (along with the Apostles Creed and the Nicaean Creed). Most believe that the Creed was composed sometime in the 6th century. Although it is likely that Athanasius was not its author, the Creed gives wonderful expression to Athanasius’ theology as well as the theology of the great universal councils of the Church. It has two sections: the first deals with the Trinity and the second deals with Christ and the Incarnation. These two sections give one of the most succinct and thorough expressions of the Christian faith and is well worth keeping as a part of your theological resources.
To find the Athanasian Creed, go to the All Saints’ Home page (https://www.asgville.com/), locate the tool bar at the top right of the screen and click on the Resources button. In the middle column of the ensuing page (under “Faith”), scroll down to “Athanasian Creed” and click on it. Enjoy!!!
